Vehicle Recognition and Classification
Our high-precision cameras automatically recognize and classify vehicles, either through license plate recognition or physical measurements. The license plate data is instantly processed and either checked against a valid booking, or for classification purposes. The crew onboard only need to react to eventual deviation, and thus significantly reduces the boarding time and workload for deckhands / pursers.
Automated Ticketing & Payments
Handle the complete, real-time ticket lifecycle on the ferry, from automatic processing for pre-booked travel to effortless billing for new arrivals. The license plate is automatically checked towards a booking. If there is no booking, the ticketing is processed with a mobile Seamless device in seconds. If there is a booking, but there is a possible deviation - i.e. incorrect vehicle dimensions, incorrect number of passengers - the deckhand instantly adjusts the data on a mobile Seamless device. Always the correct passenger and vehicle data, and always collect the payment.

Seamless is designed for maximum flexibility and efficiency. Our core system is software-based, leveraging cloud infrastructure, whilst the hardware requirements is depending on the degree of automatization and the existing infrastructure. For a basic installation, you just need a robust Seamless mobile device to capture the license plates, classify the vehicles and enter the pax data. The Seamless mobile devices are steadily processing over 20 million vehicles and 39 million passengers in Norway every year. For an automated installation, you need to install camera hardware. We utilize robust, industry-leading camera and sensor hardware, customized to handle the most challenging climate and weather conditions, and have been tested and optimized over many years along the rough Norwegian coastline, in all kinds of weather and temperatures. Depending on your requirements, number of lanes and dock infrastructure, we'll work with your team to assess your existing infrastructure and recommend the optimal hardware setup, ensuring minimal upfront investment and seamless compatibility.
Seamless is built with a strong emphasis on interoperability. It features a modern, open API designed for effortless integration with most existing booking and ticketing systems (in addition to the powerful and modern built-in booking system, which you can utilize rather than a third party system). Our technical team provides comprehensive support during the integration phase, ensuring a smooth data flow and synchronized operations. This allows you to leverage your current investments while upgrading to a hyper-efficient boarding process.
Seamless is engineered to handle all scenarios, including walk-up traffic. For vehicles without a pre-booked ticket, the system can be configured to allow immediate ticket purchase at a self-service kiosk or via a mobile app, seamlessly integrating them into the boarding queue. For Lane Assignment, the system can guide drivers to a designated lane for on-the-spot ticketing and payment, which is then instantly reconciled with the system. There is also a Dynamic Prioritization function, which integrates vehicles into the loading sequence based on available space and operator rules, ensuring no delays to pre-booked passengers while maximizing vessel capacity. Built-in ancillary and up-selling functions such as "first-on/first-off" are becoming more popular, enhancing customer satisfaction and improving profitability.
